Problem

Ms Harding had a dated kitchen concept, at her home in Harrogate. She had not made any changes design changes since she had moved in.

She had been considering refurbishing her kitchen and wanted the right company that could help her with designing and fitting a new concept for her.

Solution

Whilst searching for a kitchen company, she remembered our More Kitchens brand having been made aware of us previously.

Ms Harding visited our beautiful Harrogate showroom, where on display we have a range of kitchen and bathroom designs. She wanted to gather more information and see if we were the right company to help her achieve a brand-new kitchen design.

Ms Harding was greeted by one of our experienced designers Andy who accompanied Ms Harding around our kitchen displays and talked her through the different designs and layouts. She was then informed of our More Kitchens history, our expertise, and how it sits as one of Passmore Group’s brands. The conversation continued with Ms Harding being given a detailed step-by-step process of our full design and fit service.

Especially impressed by our fully project-managed service, as this was the kind of service that she was looking for and was one of the main reasons she came to our showroom. Ms. Harding had a few more queries that she wanted answered.

Ms. Harding explained that including a full kitchen refurbishment, she wanted to see if we could make an internal kitchen build work to achieve a more open plan kitchen design. This included knocking through the doorway to the lounge, installing new lighting, and exploring a few kitchen options that she wanted advice on and her kitchen colour options.

Confirming that this was all possible within our service thanks to the wealth of knowledge across the team, Ms. Harding wanted time to think about the information that she had recently received and took away Andy’s card and information brochures.

Ms Harding got back in touch with us and was now looking to schedule a free design appointment, for a designer to go out to her and take her through the design process.

Having already built up a positive rapport with Ms. Harding, Andy was the allocated designer to go out to Ms. Harding’s home.

Visiting Ms. Harding’s home, Andy surveyed the existing kitchen space and took measurements. The two of them then sat down to have an in-depth conversation. Already aware that Ms. Harding had not refurbished her kitchen design since she had moved in, they were now going to expand on her design ideas and see if they could come up with a new concept for her kitchen.

Ms. Harding began to explain that including a full kitchen refurbishment, she really liked some classic kitchen designs that she was shown and had her heart set on the mussel colour for the new design.

There was a design configuration in the kitchen that she had some concerns about and wanted to rectify. The window above the sink opened inwards and for Andy to take this it into account.

Aside from her design ideas she wanted to be keen for Andy to also offer his design suggestions given his extensive knowledge in kitchen design.

Andy took all of this and created a new classic kitchen design in Ms Harding’s small L-shaped layout.

The design truly incorporated Ms. Harding’s desires by including traditionally shaker-styled kitchen cabinets, with the mussel pastel-like colour, and a grey worktop finish.

Adding a splash of contemporary to the design Andy included integrated appliances, achieving the classic kitchen design she wanted.

The design also included a new kitchen flooring, and Andy had managed to ensure the windows could open and not obstruct any other kitchen features.

Andy behind the design – Ms. Harding’s new kitchen concept was a real collaborative effort between her and me, even though she came with a few ideas, she really wanted us to use our design expertise to create a new kitchen for her. Which we managed to do by picking up different design elements and incorporating them into the design. Resulting in her being happy with the new design.

Ms. Harding was delighted with the design, Andy had merged her ideas into her design and made a few alterations by finding a suitable worktop colour to match her choice, added some contemporary features, and thought of the window that opened inwards by creating a suitable workflow.

She was willing to move on to the next part of our fully project-managed service and with that Andy scheduled her for a second appointment at our Harrogate kitchen showroom and provided her with a provisional quote for the project.

At the second appointment, Andy presented detailed CAD visuals of the kitchen agreed upon at the design appointment to help Ms Harding envision how the kitchen would look finished.

Once she was happy with all the choices that had been made, Ms Harding proceeded to place an order for us.

Before the kitchen fitting, our project manager Rob visited Ms Harding's home, to talk her through the installation process and be in consistent communication with the fitter throughout the project. He would also be there as her first point of contact if she has any questions or issues.

Our multi-skilled fitter John ripped out the whole kitchen and transformed it into a beautiful classic concept, with additional contemporary kitchen features.

John replaced all the kitchen cabinets with gorgeous traditional shaker-styled units with a pastel mussel finish, as per Ms Harding’s desires. To match the new cabinets, a grey worktop with a marble finish was fit around the small l-shaped kitchen area.

The kitchen sink was carefully installed, with the taps in the middle to allow the windows that opened inwards to fully open and not block other kitchen features.

Completing the new design, the small kitchen had a birch encore rigid loc flooring installed across the entire floor.

Ms Harding’s new kitchen design is a clear demonstration of our expertise in delivering our fully project-managed service.
