Problem

Mrs. Stephenson was an existing customer who had had her bathroom done by More Ability a couple of years previous. Having received an outstanding, end-to-end service, she was now wanting to refurbish her kitchen, as it was becoming dated, having only made minor changes over the years to maintain its upkeep.

Mrs. Stephenson contacted More Kitchens and booked a free design appointment for a Senior Designer to visit her at home, survey the existing kitchen, and help and advise her through the process of designing and ordering the installation of a new kitchen.

Senior Designer Julie visited Mrs. Stephenson and discussed in detail any early design ideas she had, and any requirements Mrs. Stephenson wanted to be part of the new kitchen design.

As part of the discussion with Julie, a requirement of Mrs. Stephenson was to maintain the original floor-to-ceiling built-in cupboard that was situated to the left of the chimney breast. She also wanted to replace all kitchen units and install brand new electrical appliances as part of the new design. The final requirement was to replace the kitchen flooring and lay this throughout the kitchen diner.

Taking all of this into consideration, Julie used her extensive design knowledge to create a kitchen concept that delivered Mrs. Stephenson’s wants, needs, and requirements. Delighted with the onsite discussion Mrs. Stephenson was happy to proceed to the next stage and booked an appointment to visit our Leeds Kitchen Showroom. where Julie would present her with detailed CAD visuals and help her choose her kitchen finishing touches.

Prior to Mrs. Stephenson’s showroom appointment, Julie considered how she could retain but integrate the traditional styled built-in cupboard into a contemporary kitchen concept. Highlighted on the CAD visuals Julie presented how the kitchen storage could be upcycled and repainted to compliment the modern light grey colour scheme.

Delighted with Julie’s ability to provide innovative recommendations that were in keeping with Mrs. Stephenson's aspirations she was more than comfortable allowing Julie to lead the showroom visit.

Working together to choose the remaining kitchen finishing touches that would conclude the kitchen design everything was finalised and Mrs. Stephenson place an order with us.

A beautiful classic kitchen was installed by our multi-skilled fitter John striking a balance of traditional and contemporary features.

The existing kitchen was then stripped out, replastered including the ceiling, all new electrics were installed as part of the new kitchen design, LED lights were fit under all the wall units for extra lighting on all the sides.

As Mrs. Stephenson’s home was of a traditional design, they wanted the new kitchen design to be congruent with the rest of the home but also incorporate modern fixtures and fittings to the new kitchen.

Light-grey Shaker-style kitchen cabinet units were fit to match the pale grey finish of the house, maintaining its traditional kitchen design style. As per the kitchen design, wide drawers were fit to offer the Stephenson family a more practical storage space. This also complemented the white glossy marble look work surface and upstand inset ceramic sink and traditional tap. Eye-level, oven, and microwave were fit as part of the integrated shaker-style cabinet units.

To complete the new kitchen installation the kitchen flooring was levelled and had vinyl click flooring in a stunning grey to match the tone of the kitchen colour scheme. All new skirting boards were fit around the new vinyl flooring.

Outcome:

A dated and tired kitchen was transformed into a classic kitchen design striking a perfect balance of traditional and contemporary kitchen features
