Modern U-Shaped Kitchen Renovation | Harrogate | More Kitchens
Published: 20 March 2026
Background
Our clients, visited our Harrogate Kitchen showroom to update their kitchen, having previously worked with designer Andy on a bathroom project. As returning customers, they also benefited from a £250 loyalty discount.
Senior Designer Andy arranged a free design consultation at the property to assess the existing kitchen and discuss how the space could be refreshed.
Having recently moved into a bungalow to be closer to family, the couple had already begun updating their home. While the kitchen layout itself worked well for them, the overall look felt dated and no longer matched the more modern feel they had introduced elsewhere, particularly following their bathroom renovation.
The main aim of the project was to update the kitchen with a cleaner, more contemporary finish, while keeping a layout that already suited their day to day use.

Kitchen Design
Senior Designer Andy worked closely with our clients to update the space, focusing on modernising the overall look while retaining the existing U-Shape Kitchen. As the layout already worked well, the design centred around introducing new cabinetry, work surfaces and finishes that felt more in keeping with the rest of the home. Light, neutral tones were chosen to create a brighter, more contemporary feel, complemented by subtle detailing and clean lines throughout.

The addition of a tall cupboard near the back door was a practical improvement, finished in a Solent Grey Mist tone. This was designed to act as a dedicated storage space for shoes, helping to keep the kitchen clutter-free while making better use of the available space.
New worktops and splash backs were introduced to enhance both durability and visual appeal, while under-cabinet lighting adds a soft, functional layer of light across the workspace.

Installation
The installation was managed by project manager Rob, ensuring the project was delivered smoothly and efficiently. Multi-Skilled fitter, Stuart carried out the installation, carefully bringing the updated design to life with a high level of attention to detail.

As the existing layout remained in place, the focus was on delivering a clean and precise finish, including the installation of new cabinetry, worktops, flooring and lighting. Each element was fitted to complement the overall design, creating a cohesive and well-balanced space.
